Welcome to Y6!

We have a busy year with many activities planned.

This is a very important year for us all and we will be working very hard, but at the same time we will have a lot of fun and new challenges.

We will be covering a number of areas within literacy beginning with fiction. In particular we will be comparing the work of different authors and experimenting with different styles of writing.

In numeracy we will be starting with number work and making sure we have reliable and secure methods for working to solve number problems.

In Science we will be looking at changes, in particular reversible and irreversible changes. We will be testing a number of materials and processes to discover why we can make changes and reverse the changes in some situations and not in others.

Our first History topic will be to explore recent history through researching the lives of famous people including John Lennon and the other Beatles.
